The Animal Help Chalki, which affiliates people from the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Canada and from the Greek mainland, cooperates with the Animal Protection Association “Philosoikos Syllogos Chalkis”for an ethical treatment of animals (cats, dogs, sheep, goats, horses etc.)  on the island Chalki. It is dedicated to ensure the provision of food, mainly  for wild-living cats and dogs, the medical care and neutering , including the earmarking of neutered animals, as well as the treatment against parasites (provision and application of medicaments).

Animals in immediate need or danger will be helped by volunteers of the Animal Help Chalki.

A further aim is the cooperation with the school authorities on the island, in order to familiarize children and adolescents with the idea of animal protection. It is planned to provide the schools with books and information material on this subject. Additionally, we intend to put up posters with extracts of the Greek Animal Welfare Act, to remind the inhabitants of Chalki and especially persons in responsible functions of an ethical treatment of the animals.
