Unsere Ziele:

bulletProtection and ethical treatment of the animals (dogs, cats, sheep, goats, horses etc.)
We are open to any ideas and proposals contributing to the achievement of our aim. If you plan to spend your holidays on the island, we would appreciate if you kept your eyes open to the situation of animals on the island and if you talked about this problem with the islanders and other tourists.
Please, let us know if you are willing to help. Our most important aim is to ensure the survival of the animals and to improve their quality of life. If necessary, we mediate and organize the transfer of young cats and dogs to animal-lovers in Germany.

bulletFeeding in Winter
We want to ensure a sufficient nourishment of the cats and dogs, also in winter or in times of slow tourism. Non-domesticated animals (wild-living cats) will be fed regularly at protected feeding-places. For this purpose we need helpers and money for the food
bullet Neutering Program
Wild living cats and dogs will be neutered on a regular basis, in order  to prevent uncontrolled procreation and thereby to avoid  killing-actions committed by the islanders. The neutered animals will be earmarked accordingly.

bulletMedical Care
Parasites are a serious problem: Ticks, fleas, worms. There are excellent medicaments on the market, but it is difficult to administer them to wild-living animals. Furthermore, it happens very often that animals are injured and the healing of wounds is impaired because of the heat in summer and the poor nourishment.
We plan to establish a central collection-point for items of any kind: food, medicaments against parasites and diarrhea, bandage material, special food for motherless kitten etc. Veterinarians spending their holidays on the island, are asked to look after injured animals or badly-kept farm animals.

bulletEducation on Animal Protection at School
Education and information on the Greek Animal Welfare Act and on a ethical treatment of farm animals should be a regular subject of school education. Especially the children, who are our future, should early learn to behave in a different way

Their mother was poisoned, the kitten survived - but 1 day after going home, the kitten disapeared !

bulletEnlightment of the Population
It is not acceptable that cats are poisoned every year, cats heavy with young, kitten as well as mothers leaving behind a litter of young. Recently, cats were even shot!  All animals contribute to the ecological balance and have a right to live. The fact, that fire arms are even used .in residential areas, presents a danger for other individuals.
Creative minds are welcome!  We intend to create posters and put them up in public places and buildings, to remind the population of a peaceful “co-existence” with animals.
